Process
How to Replace Quartz Sand and Activated Carbon Filter Media
- Prepare the Filter Media:
- 1 bag of activated carbon (25 kg/bag)
- 2 bags of quartz sand (one coarse and one fine, 25 kg/bag each)
- Remove the Old Media:
- Loosen the top cap of the fiberglass tank and drain the water completely using a hose to reduce weight.
- Carefully remove the entire tank and rinse it thoroughly until clean.
- For the carbon tank, add a layer of coarse quartz sand at the bottom (about half a bag), then fill with activated carbon until the tank is about two-thirds full.
- For the quartz sand tank, add coarse sand as the bottom layer, then fill with the remaining sand until the tank is about two-thirds full.
How to Replace the RO Membrane
- Use the appropriate tool to open the membrane housing from the top.
- Pull out the old membrane.
- Insert the new RO membrane into the housing.
- Close the end cap firmly to ensure a proper seal.
